One such opportunity is the prestigious Haileybury Scholarship, which not only covers tuition fees but also opens doors to a plethora of enrichment programs and additional opportunities. In this article, we will explore the various types of Haileybury Scholarships, eligibility requirements, application procedures, and much more.

Understanding Haileybury Scholarships

Haileybury Scholarships are highly sought-after awards that aim to support students from underrepresented groups in accessing quality education. Established in 2015, these scholarships provide eligible candidates with the opportunity to receive free tuition. The program specifically targets women, individuals from the First Nations, Inuit, or Metis communities, refugees, undocumented immigrants, and youth of Aboriginal descent.

Haileybury takes immense pride in delivering top-notch education, and the institution has four campuses located in Melbourne: Berwick, Brighton, Haileybury City, and Keysborough. Each campus offers a limited number of scholarships, including academic scholarships, general excellence scholarships, indigenous scholarships, and socio-economic scholarships, to students who wish to commence their studies in 2024.

Eligibility Requirements for Haileybury Scholarships

To be considered for a Haileybury Scholarship, applicants must meet specific eligibility criteria. While the requirements may vary slightly depending on the scholarship type, the following criteria generally apply:
  1. Citizenship: Applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico, or of the U.S.
  2. Grade Level: Candidates must be in either 11th or 12th grade, and they are required to submit their scores from standard tests.
  3. Nomination: A member of the school community or a committee chosen by the student's principal must nominate applicants.
  4. School Enrollment: Applicants must provide proof of enrollment in an American secondary school.
  5. Academic Achievement: Completion of either the Advanced Placement Program or the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is necessary.
  6. Grade Point Average: A minimum grade point average of 3.0 in the last semester of high school is typically expected.
  7. Study Abroad: Candidates must demonstrate completion of a rigorous study abroad program.
